Cat James: Composer (Choir Director)
(About
this arrangement: I kept in mind the input and suggestions form the LT
group, in that this version of Little Light of Mine features chanting
and Om throughout. It is in the key of G - the key of the Tesla coil,
if I remember correctly. Our Tenors and basses chanting begins and
carries the song through the end. And for your gospel lovers the
harmonies are traditional gospel harmonies. It is also audience
participatory - all you need to do to sing this song is sing "om" on a
G!)

Once your there follow these steps:
1. Download "Little Light of Mine" (click to play or save link to download)
This is the main arrangement in midi, waiting to be transformed into real voices!
2.
Download music for your specific voice part: Soprano 1, Soprano 2,
Alto, Tenor, Bass. (click to play or save link to download)
Each part has two tracks to help you practice. For example, if you're an alto find "Little Light of Mine (alto)" and "Little Light of Mine (alto solo)"
3. Once you have 3 tracks downloaded you are ready to go.
Practice Tips:
I
suggest learning your part with the "solo" track first. This track is a
Little slower on purpose. It has just your part and a soft metronome in
the background. Mike (my boyfriend, a tenor, and my guinea pig for
these things) says it's easiest for him to practice without hearing the
other voices at first.
Feel free to email me with any questions or excited outbursts!
I am looking forward to singing with you all on Sunday @ 3.
If you haven't already please message Samwise and let him know you are coming and for directions.
Love and light! - Cat

Sing
lyrics when you sing harmony to the melody.
But for much of this song,
you'll be doing rhythm.
You'll have to sing "om" for this part to
really sound right.
For each note in your part sing "om" or just "ohh!"
(If it gets high, float notes slight and treat your voice kindly.)

Lyrics:
For the beginning and rhythm parts, sing "Om."
For the verses sing
"This Lil' Light of Mine. I'm gon' let it shine..."
per usual For when
you're not sure which, sing "Om" :)

Bass |
For Basses! You truly carry this song, the backbone of which is the G note. The song begins and ends to your chant, "Om" on a G, which also happens to be the same note the Temple is tuned to. Enjoy! (Intended for use by choir members only.)
Lyrics:
For the beginning sing "Om."
For the verses sing
"This Lil'
Light of Mine. I'm gon' let it shine..."
per usual For when you're not
sure which, sing "om" :)
